Quake came out in 1996 but it continues to have a strong following of loyal players and competitors, with its esports scene still thriving. It’s one of the first shooters of its kind and has continued to inspire other esports titles today.

If you want to tune in to the celebration and tournaments, here’s how.

When is QuakeCon 2023?

QuakeCon 2023 is taking place Thursday, August 10 through Sunday, August 13. It will be held at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.

If you’re attending in person, you’ll not only be able to watch the top Quake action live, but participate in “the world’s biggest LAN party,” give back through non-profits present at the event, play corn hole and board games, paint miniatures, eat at food trucks, and cosplay.

Quakecon schedule

As you can see, there’s a lot of creative and light-hearted content planned ahead of the Quake tournament action. This includes cooking-focused streams, trivia, pet adoption non-profits, and some casual competitions.

This appears to be the vibe of the entire weekend aside from the top Quake players coming together to compete for the coveted title of GOAT. But until then, there will be content creators playing Quake blindfolded, speedruns, and other fan-created content.

The three tournaments this weekend include:

  • Quake Champions 2v2 TDM — Thursday, August 10 at 2 PM CST
  • FFA Challenge Quake Champions Qualifier — Thursday, August 10 at 6 PM CST
  • Quake Champions Sacrifice — Saturday, August 12 at 2 PM CST

The complete schedule will most likely be out soon. Check on the official website for updates.

You can watch all of the fun festivities and intense competitions on Twitch and YouTube.
